Integra Trials Pty Ltd is an independent Perth-based clinical trials unit, formed through the partnership of senior clinicians and accomplished researchers, and co-located with CIS Group at its head office, CIS Monash Clinic in Nedlands, WA.

Our Story

Why we built Integra.

Western Australia has world-class clinicians, dedicated researchers and patients who deserve access to the best emerging treatments. What it has lacked is a clinical trials partner that brings these together under one roof, with the scientific rigour of senior researchers, the patient care of practising clinicians and the operational discipline that sponsors require.

Integra Trials was founded to fill that gap. We're a new company, but the people behind it have decades of experience designing, leading, and delivering clinical research.

How we work.

Clinician-led, researcher-grounded.

Trials at Integra are shaped by practising clinicians who see patients every week, and by senior researchers whose careers have been spent generating evidence. Both perspectives matter, and both are present at every stage of a study.

Patient-first, always.

A clinical trial is, for the person taking part, a deeply personal decision. We design our processes around their time, their dignity, and the support of the family members who often walk the journey with them.

Independent and accountable.

Integra is an independent commercial entity, governed by its directors, accountable to its sponsors, and bound by ICH-GCP and Australian regulatory standards. Our partnerships extend our capability, but our judgement and our responsibility are our own.

Integra is led by five founding members, combining practising clinicians who care for patients every week with senior researchers who have spent their careers designing and delivering the science. Together they bring decades of combined experience to every trial we deliver.

Clinical leadership

Prof Roger Clarnette

Co-Founder · Medical Director · Geriatrician & Clinical Trials Specialist

Roger is one of Western Australia's most experienced principal investigators in clinical research, with a long career as a practising geriatrician and a deep understanding of the patients and families he works with. As a principal investigator, Roger has led 37 multinational Phase II–IV trials across 22 sponsors — the delivery record that anchors Integra's leadership team track record. At Integra, he leads clinical and scientific oversight, ensuring every trial we deliver puts patient welfare at the centre.

Dr Philip Currie

Co-Founder & Co-Director · Consultant Cardiologist & CEO, CIS

Philip is a practising physician and the Chief Executive of CIS – Clinical Integration Solutions Ltd, Integra's clinical partner facility. He brings to Integra both clinical insight and the operational leadership of a successful multidisciplinary clinic, ensuring that trial delivery is supported by real-world clinical infrastructure and patient pathways.

Prof John Mamo

Co-Founder & Co-Director · Governance & Strategic Oversight

John is an accomplished senior researcher and recognised leader in Australian health and medical research. At Integra, he provides governance, strategic direction and external engagement, helping ensure the organisation's growth remains grounded in scientific integrity, clinical excellence and the long-term interests of patients, investigators and sponsors.

Drawing on extensive experience in translational research, clinical trial development and stakeholder engagement, John contributes to the strategic governance of the organisation and supports the advancement of high-quality clinical research programs.

A/Prof Ryu Takechi

Co-Founder · Clinical Governance & Quality Frameworks

Ryu contributes to Integra's clinical governance and quality framework, supporting the development of robust systems that promote research excellence, participant safety and regulatory compliance.

With extensive experience in translational neuroscience and clinical research, he provides strategic oversight and scientific guidance to ensure studies are conducted to the highest standards of quality and integrity.

Dr Virginie Lam

Co-Founder · Clinical Research Governance & Compliance

Virginie provides strategic oversight of clinical research governance and compliance activities within Integra. Drawing on extensive experience in neuroscience research and clinical trial delivery, she contributes to the development of systems and processes that support high-quality, participant-centred research.

Her role focuses on promoting research quality, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement across clinical trial activities while helping ensure studies are conducted in accordance with recognised ethical and governance standards.

Our Partnership

Built on shared standards with CIS – Clinical Integration Solutions.

CIS – Clinical Integration Solutions is a leading multidisciplinary medical group in Western Australia, headquartered at CIS Monash Clinic in Nedlands. CIS brings together four specialist divisions across cardiovascular, respiratory and sleep, cardiometabolic, and clinical psychology, with proven patient pathways across the state. Integra Trials is co-located with CIS Group at this head office.

Through our partnership with CIS, Integra Trials gains access to an operational, fully-equipped clinical facility; specialist consultant physicians and clinical staff; established patient referral networks across CIS’s areas of expertise; and the infrastructure required to deliver Phase II–IV studies safely and efficiently.

CIS and Integra Trials are separate organisations with shared directors and aligned standards. Trial sponsors contract directly with Integra; site-level clinical delivery is supported through CIS facilities and staff under formal arrangement.
